Hey all,

It's been a rather long time since this club moved through the wilderness. I'm afraid I didn't have the time to be here. I'm not sure if I can revive this club either. I need to know how many out there are still want to be actively apart of this club.

I do mean more than just sending submissions in, this is a place for deviants of Tasmania to be in communication and as well as availability towards each other. In basic terms entering contests, sharing local art events, other sorts of advertisements.

I don't have much faith though, because I know the last time I tried this it slowly died. So my motivational tolerance isn't all that high this time round. But I'll give it another attempt!

So abit of a mix-match of responses. Do you all consider writing a traditional art form? Because we could always have a Traditional Art / Writing Contest. Where you have the choice of either drawing or writing. Its really up to you people?

It is clear that photography dominates a large chunk of this club. It would be great to see the more Traditional Art have a fair go. So it's been suggested the next contest should be solely for the Traditional Medium. Get all your hands on creative juices flowing! There already is a few members who are strong in the area but I'm sure theres a few others hiding in the membership.

~BrentJago suggests we have a writing competition. Can be based on Tasmanian, living in Tas, Tasmania value/spirit. Within any style prose, poetry or even essay. Its really worth considering. Everyone can write its just none of us are willing until prompted?

Any thoughts? Other ideas? I usually try to make the contest available for all mediums to enter. But its really up to you lot lol I just set it up ^_^</sub>

Applications are open lol I'm curious to know if there is anyone who wants to take charge of running contests? I'm trying to off load work to someone else hehe

I'm currently working on organising a Devmeet for this summer, but I need a bit of feed back to see what works best for people.

Would you prefer the one date but three locations e.g. Dev, Launie and Hobart (in which case volunteers would be really helpful)

Three dates, three locations (also needs local volunteers)

or just the one day and the one location?

And what date suits you guys best?


I'm totally open to suggestions so feel free to note me at =missmixedup anytime, you can find my email listed there also.


The base idea I'm working with for the moment is an Artists Picnic type thing. So basically turn up with any art suplies you want, a bit of food to share and have a day of being creative with great people.

So food, fun, art, people. Sound good?

Sorry for the lack of 'happenings' here lately. End of year and all... But that's not the point.

Either way it's good to see there are more people using the gallery submission option. Instead of our usual 4 members lol Great to have a bit of variety outside of photography ^^ So keep sending the club your work and I'll add it to the gallery.


Well guess we should think about the next contest. From memory the runner up was night. But to be fair we will run another.. suggestion box lol So please suggest some new contest ideas and I'll run a poll in a week or so.

Date: Saturday 8th of December
Where: Royal Park opposite LC and TAFE
Time: 1pm sound ok???
Who to look for: A girl sitting there like a loner with really really long hair and a little pink elephant ( i will get shot for that *hides*)

I still need help with the other 2.. ort should i just organise one at a time??? i need feedback or i can try to please you all ( and not in a dirty way!)

i need your help people to ensure we have successful devmeets.

i will be organising 3 different ones again ( Launceston, Burnie and Hobart) but all on different days.

so i need you all that are interested in the devmeets to answer these few questions.
